Then my counterpart, who handled the managerial responsibilities, left the company and left me with the task of managing and training. I loved working with them, and at the time, it seemed like the ideal position. I recall a time when I worked as a Massage Mentor where I trained the new employees on how to give spa massages. Those stretches revealed more of me to me and helped me to trust my gift, my intuition, and to make better and more sound business choices. I have had moments of transition for sure where it got a little bumpy for stretches of time, but nothing that would deter me from my desire to help people feel good through massage. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way? And I knew then that I wanted to provide that same feeling to other people. I started out with three massages a week, then went to two massages a week, then one a week. I ended up getting an infection and as a result, was put on several antibiotics, none of which my body responded well to.Īfter weeks of being sensitive to touch and suffering from what felt like inconsolable pain, my doctor recommended that I get a massage. I was devastated and had a hard time not just emotionally, but physically. I was 27 years old and had recently experienced a miscarriage. It’s amazing really how a traumatic experience can lead you to your purpose. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far. Today we’d like to introduce you to Marsha Rivera.
